Why is the emergency rental assistance program ending?
Lake County has a limited amount of funds remaining for the program and a large number of applications to process. Unfortunately, no additional funds are projected to be awarded to the county for this specific program.
I submitted my application before the December 31, 2021 deadline. Will my application be processed?
Applications received before the December 31, 2021 deadline will be processed. The process takes 45 to 90 days. However, we cannot guarantee that funding will be available even if your application is approved.

To check the status of your application, please regularly check your Submittable account.
Where can I go if I need rent help after the Lake County emergency rental assistance program closes and/or funding becomes unavailable?
If you need financial assistance to pay for rent, and you have not submitted an application to the Lake County Emergency Rental Assistance program, you may be eligible to use the State of Indiana’s emergency rental assistance program. For more information, visit IndianaHousingNow.org.
